The House with a Bridge
This major remodelling project transformed a traditional 1930s three-bedroom detach house into a six bedroom luxury property, adding 110 sqm of new floor area, comprising:

-
a new spectacular 6m tall double-height living space with an open-plan kitchen and dining area.
-
a grand 5.5m tall vaulted 5m x 12m bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a dressing room with its very own private balcony
-
a feature link bridge between the original house and new master-bedroom on first floor level.
-
two new bedrooms in the previously unused attic space with their new dedicated bathroom.
The design re-introduces the residence to existing paddocks and bucolic open fields beyond.
The new extension is a steel frame clad with vertical cedar boarding and has simple pitch roof to reference surrounding agri-residential forms. The overhanging master bedroom volume provides covered spaces usable in bad weather.

These spaces open out to the new panorama and reacquaint occupants with a renewed sense of seasonal colours of the changing environment.
This project was delivered with a full architect’s service from feasibility to practical completion. Full planning and building regulation permissions were applied and approved including SAP calculations (co-ordination) and site visits. GTA
